I Really Really Thought 2009 Would Be Better

But I was wrong...in fact, not even close. The federal government has lost their collective minds. And what really gets me is half the population of this country is cheering them on. Georgia Dawgs look nothing like the team I've been following for 32 years. I now hate Fox News. IRS is badgering me monthly. Money is harder to make, or more importantly-keep.

Oh yeah, we bombed the fucking moon.

Good Fucking Riddance 2008...

ok ok..not all bad but you have to admit..the later in the year it got, the more fucked up shit became. When a black-white man becomes president and that ain't near the worse news out there, yep, things are pretty fucked up.

First off I would like to say "Congratu-fucking-lations" to Barack Obama for his well run and very successful campaign. With George Gregori Bush giving the shop away there at the end, I doubt if we see anything that insane and fucking criminal coming out of Obama's White House (at least not on purpose) . Obama is a very intelligent dude who now HAS to govern thus he will have a record folks can run against in 4 years. Sure he's having some bumps in the road as far as his Chicago connections, but hey, you don't become president unless you run with these types and Obama has managed to stay pretty clean while doing so.

But back to the year we just suffered through. Gas prices and availability problems, all of our retail and banking institutions running out of money, insurance giants falling on their collective asses, people's retirement funds gone in a week, the war in Iraq is actually somewhat popular now (there's a big what-the-fuck), the new Pres says we gonna kick Afghani and Pakistani asses, Gwinnett County trying to enact a law where they can fine a citizen $500 for not recycling. Easy to see why I believe 2009 will be a fucking joyride after 2008.

One thing I have never grasped is this...we are in a war yet no one acts like it. Back in WWII the whole economy went to a war footing. Rationing, etc occurred and folks were asked to buy war bonds to bankroll the war effort. Just before the war when the world was in a serious depression, soup lines were the norm, 15% unemployment was common. Now, you don't see any of this bullshit, yet to listen to the talking heads we are almost in the same boat as then. I think they are lying...but that's just me.

Lesson to be learned here is, if this bothers you...get the hell involved. We are at the place we are because we have been too busy with all the other stuff to pay attention how imperial and socialistic our leaders have become. I can assure you they see no reason to change things.

Well, that's enough for now but I, for one, welcome 2009 with open arms, even with the knowledge that it probably will suck like 2008, 2007, etc did. But what the hey, we can dream right?..
